Come and login to our free Zoom workout session led by Rock Steady Boxing coach and Sr. POP Advisor, Jojo McDuffie. Registrants will enjoy a great 60-minute work out geared towards strength and wellness while living with Parkinson's Disease.
Note: All participants will be emailed on the Friday before with login details for the Zoom workout session on Saturday.
About Coach Jojo
Jojo McDuffie is a Strength Coach, residing in Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife Emily and daughter Maddie. He is currently a Athletic Facility Manager and Instructor/Personal Trainer at the University of Virginia in the Department of Intramural and Recreational Sports. He is also the owner of Rock Steady Harrisonburg and Head Coach at Rock Steady Boxing Charlottesville, working with athletes diagnosed Parkinson's disease.
Jojo holds a B.A. in Economics from Randolph-Macon College (Ashland, VA.) Â and Masters in Sport Leadership from Northeastern University (Boston,MA.). He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (ISSA), Functional Aging Specialist (Functional Aging Institute) and Functional Movement Specialist (Functional Movement Systems).Â
Jojo is passionate about movement and believes "movement is medicine" and "strength is the master quality.' He has been training athletes with Parkinson's disease since 2016. He uses non-contact boxing and strength training to help slow the progression of Parkinson's disease in individual and group formats. He has watched his athletes make great strides and experience a better quality of life through excercise. Jojo has been invited to speak at Health Fairs and Support Groups to educate the community about the importance of exercise for people with Parkinson's and their families. He hopes through the work of Power Over Parkinson's, that programs can be created, made affordable and accessible to everyone!Â
