Parkinson's Education Day

In honor of Parkinson’s Awareness Month, VCU Parkinson’s Center and Power Over Parkinson’s are  hosting an education day in Richmond.  This 5-hour event will include talks that focus on important topics in Parkinson’s disease, including cognition, psychosis, and impulse control problems as well as tips and tricks for caregivers.

This event is also sponsored by the Parkinson’s Foundation.

The cost is $10/person.  Lunch is included.  If you would like a scholarship to cover the cost of your attendance, please call Ginger Norris at 804-627-1398.  Space is limited.

Agenda for the Day:

9:30-10:00: Registration and Coffee

10:00-10:15: Welcome

10:15-11:00: Cognition in PD

11:00-11:45: Psychosis in PD

11:45-12:30: Lunch & PD Trivia Challenge

12:30-1:15: Impulse control disorders in PD

1:15-2:00: Caregiver tips and tricks for living with someone with dementia and/or psychosis

2:00-2:30: Legal matters & estate planning practice

2:30-3:00: Ask the Panel (All faculty & staff)

Directions for Arriving:  

You will need to enter the Westminster Canterbury Campus through the main gate located 1600 Westbrook Ave.  The entrance will be directly in front of you as you drive through the main gate.  The guard at the main gate will direct you to parking areas.  Parking can be a little bit of a distance from the main door.  You can drop off people at the main door before parking.

When you enter the main door, take an immediate left and walk down the short hallway.  The registration tables on the right side.
